This is a common dish popularly enjoyed in Germany, but we have added a bit of oriental and exotic twist to how its made.
Halve the onion and then cut into slices.
Clean the mushrooms and then cut into slices. (Not too thin)
Rinse the chicken under running water, dry it and cut into strips or cubes (into the typical slightly elongated strips shape).
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large pan or pot and first sauté the onions in it. When they are translucent, add the meat and fry it too. Until it is done, but not dry or hard.
Now add the mushrooms and fry them too. When they are lightly browned, add the cream and cream cheese and stir thoroughly. Then add the stock powder and nutmeg, as well as salt and pepper to the pan or pot. Warning: The vegetable stock is already relatively salty, so use the salt very sparingly.
Now serve the chicken strips and garnish with chives, parsley or spring onions.
